O-Shot® Q & A
What is the O-shot®?
PRP therapy uses concentrated elements from your own blood to stimulate new cell and tissue growth in and around the treatment area. The O-shot® uses PRP to promote healthier, more functional vaginal tissue in areas responsible for low sexual response and urinary incontinence.
This treatment improves the muscle and tissue quality in and around your vaginal wall, to strengthen urinary control, heighten sensation, and increase your sexual responsiveness.
The team may also recommend this treatment in combination with human tissue allograft therapy, which could give you even greater results.
What are some benefits of the O-shot®?
- Increased arousal from clitoral stimulation
- Smoother, younger-looking vulva
- Tighter, firmer vaginal opening
- Stronger, more intense orgasm
- Increased sex drive
- Improved ability to reach orgasm
- Decreased vaginal dryness
- Improved urinary control
Women who have a history of painful intercourse have reported less pain and discomfort during sex after getting the O-shot®.
What does an O-shot® treatment session entail?
During your O-shot® treatment, you rest in a comfortable position while your provider uses a small needle to inject PRP around and inside your vagina.
The process takes about an hour from start to finish. Because you aren’t sedated for your procedure, you can drive yourself home.
No downtime is necessary after your O-shot®, and you may resume sexual activity as soon as four hours after treatment, though it may take a few days to experience full results and increased sensation.
To enhance your results, you may need to use a pelvic floor stimulator a couple of times a day until your vaginal wall heals. The stimulator is an easy-to-use device that the team teaches you how to use before you go home.
